About

Hi, I’m Merica!

I’m an instructional designer with 20 years of experience in Learning and Development.

I have developed tailor-made learning solutions for internal and external audiences when living in 7 countries.

I speak 4 languages and enjoy finding effective ways to communicate with people from all cultures and using this knowledge to design, develop, and facilitate effective learning solutions for diverse adult audiences.

I love learning and enabling others to learn by creating effective learning materials. My natural curiosity and empathy for learners from diverse perspectives combined with in-depth knowledge of adult learning theory drives me to be resourceful in gathering data from multiple stakeholders, collaborate effectively, and develop learning solutions that are effective, efficient, and engaging.

When I’m not on my computer, I’m probably

🏃‍♀️ walking while 🎧 listening to an audiobook or podcast,

translanguaging and wondering about and checking on the gender of a noun in one of languages I speak and study,

🧘 doing yoga, 🚴🏻‍♀️biking, 🏊🏻‍♀️ swimming, 🏄🏻‍♀️surfing, 🐕 dog watching, 🌴enjoying nature, 😃 talking with friends, or 💡 brainstorming about my next adventure.
